Par Bay Community Trust

Par Bay Community Trust was established in 2014 to serve the community of St Blazey, Par and Tywardreath in Cornwall, by preventing or relieving poverty, advancing the health of residents, developing skills, advancing education and assisting in the provision of recreational facilities. In 2015, having used funding secured from the National Lottery’s Big Local programme to purchase and renovate an old auction house , Cornubia,  in the centre of Par,  the Trust now hosts a wide range of activities and events for the community: two social enterprises, meeting rooms, a community garden and offices that are currently rented by NHS social prescribers and the local diabetes team.

Par Bay Community Trust has active, engaged trustees who are keen to develop services that meet community needs. This includes offering further volunteering opportunities, upgrading facilities and ensuring that Cornubia is sufficiently flexible to meet the ongoing and changing needs of local residents. They keenly listen to the needs and desires of the community and consequently aim to provide a quality service that currently addresses the cost-of-living crisis, health inequalities and the effects of isolation, whilst aiming to be ready and equipped to meet new demands.
